Denyse Plummer’s 1st Christmas Album

Former national calypso monarch, Denyse Plummer, launched her first Christmas CD, titled – Happy Christmas, at the St Andrews Golf Club, in Moka, Maraval, last week. The ten festive tracks include a mix of popular local and traditional music.

The tracks on the album include:

Happy Christmas (John Lennon and Yoko Ono)
Old Christmas Card (Jim Reeves)
Ribbons (Gregory Ballantyne)
Feliz Navidad (Jose Feliciano)
Go Light Your World (Chris Rice)
O Holy Night (Adolphe Adam)
Little Drummer Boy (Katherine Kennicott Davis)
Away In A Manger (W J Kirkpatrick)
Old Toy Trains (Roger Miller)
Auld Lang Syne (Robert Burns).

Supporting Plummer on the night, was show host and vocalist Marcia Miranda, who also performed some of her well-known Soca Parang hits, along with leading local R&B vocal group, H20 Phlo, who provided listeners a taste of their brand new single – Christmas Time Again. No Trinbago Christmas show would be complete, without parang music and this was amply provided by Alicia Jagessar, and Los Alumnos de San Juan parang group.
