Soca Music Represented at The Soul Train Awards 2013

Soca music has gained futher recognition at the Soul Train Awards 2013. Bunji Garlin and Machel Montano are flying the Trini flag and rag , being nominated in the Best International Performance category. The two Soca stars are up against Emeli Sande, P-Square and Iyanya.

Both Machel and Bunji have met the criteria which requires artists to have a strong identity in the international music scene, in part on album sales, world digital sales, radio spins and their projects were released within the eligibility period.

This is the second outing for Machel at the Soul Train awards. In 2011, along with Kes the Band, each were nominated for their releases entitled, Bend Over and Wotless respectively.

The awards will be presented November the 8th, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, and will be aired on 1st of December, on BET and Centric.
