Trinidad & Tobago’s National Treasure, David Rudder, celebrated his 60th birthday, on the 6th of May 2013.
In a career spanning over 30 years, David Rudder remains the only artist to win every title, in one Carnival season; Young Kings, Calypso Monarch, Road March and winning panorama tune, back in 1986. He has also, released many albums including the multi-award winning Haiti, 1990, Rough and Ready and in 2011 Random Notes.
David Rudder’s talents caught the attention of Warner Brothers, who secured his services, to work along side internationally acclaimed Brazilian singer Margareth Menezes on the Wild Orchid sound track. He has been featured in the US Billboard and UK Sunday Observer magazines, Los Angeles Times and The Guardian UK newspapers, as well as mainstream media in Germany, Japan, the Caribbean and Europe.
In recent years Mr Rudder has mentored and collaborated with many of the popular Soca artist to produce popular hits like, “Live Yuh Life (Like Yuh Playing Mas)” with Kes the Band, “3 Colours” with Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, “Oil & Music” with Machel Montano and “Trini To The Bone” with Carl Jacobs.
