Northern Illinois University (NIU) Host Pan Concert Via The Internet

Northern Illinois University (NIU) will be hosting its annual Spring pan concert today. There will be performances from the All Universities Steelban, selected by audition only, pan supremo Robert Greenidge and other pan soloists. The concert also features professor of Conducting Dr Ronnie Wooten, conducting sections of Felix Mendelssohn’s Fourth Symphony arranged by Yuko Asada, who is one of the band’s members. Latin jazz specialist, Professor Mike Mixtacki, will join the NIU steelband on an arrangement of Mongo Santamaria’s classic Afro-Blue. 

The concert starts at 3 pm (local time) and is freely accessible via NIU’s website.
